"What luck for rulers that men do not think." --Adolf Hitler (1889-1945)
Personal freedom is the most important freedom in the world. Freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of choice, freedom of press, and the right to assemble peacefully are all personal freedoms. I will go into more depth for each of these in the various sections of my site.
The first ammendment is the most precious of them all.
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
But what does it mean? Congress is not allowed to make any laws that establish any one religion as the dominate religion, or prevents the practice of any religion by an individual or group. We can not be punished for voicing our opinion by voice or written word, or gathering in assembly in protest or support for any reason as long as we do it peacefully. If we have any grievances with the government we have the right to petition to government concerning our grievances.
